NYC Scene Report – Daisy the Great, Lukka, & Ruby & Sasha

This week’s NYC Scene Report features Daisy the Great wanting to have a moment, Lukka diving into “Blue Ocean Eyes,” and the column debut of twin sister duo Ruby & Sasha.

* NYC-based twosome Daisy the Great have released a fantastic post-breakup tune titled “Can I Have A Moment.”

Describing the song as “a cry into the ether of wanting to be loved and noticed by someone who once loved you back,” the duo revealed in a statement that “‘Can I Have A Moment’ came out of a breakup, and it was really cathartic to let those feelings of desperation and rejection bubble inside a song that grew to be so spirited and wry and playful.”

Daisy the Great are currently contributing to some great moments for fans, as they’re on tour through the 22nd of the month.

You can have a moment with them by clicking play on the video for “Can I Have A Moment” right here.

* Lukka released their third full-length album, Wendekind, earlier this month, and it includes the standout single “Blue Ocean Eyes.”

An indie psych rock gem, the band – which is the creation of German-born, NYC-based artist Franzi Szymkowia – says “Blue Ocean Eyes” is “about feeling misunderstood by someone you love.”

There’s no misunderstanding how great Lukka sounds on “Blue Ocean Eyes.” Click play on the trippy video, and hear what I mean.

* Brooklyn-based identical twins Ruby & Sasha are ready step into the limelight, as the singer-songwriter duo recently released their debut single, “Outdoor Shower.”

Featuring a laid back, warm vibe (I mean, you wouldn’t exactly use an outdoor shower in the cold, would you?), the harmonies are as tight as you’d expect from twins.

With “Outdoor Shower” as their opening salvo, Ruby & Sasha are primed for a nice rise throughout the rest of 2026, and here’s hoping we hear more them sooner, rather than later.
