Pop Shots – Teams
Welcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. Covering all things pop culture, this week Pop Shots is hitting you with thoughts on everything from who Kacey Musgraves is teaming up with for some Texas shows, to who definitely isn’t on Zach Bryan’s team, to the team of artists that Bad Bunny just knocked out of the record books, and since this is Pop Shots you know everything is seasoned with a little bit of attitude.* Kacey Musgraves will be joined by The Mariachi Brothers — a young trio who were wrongly detained by ICE earlier this year – for three shows in her home state of Texas. Kid Rock is probably somewhere frantically attempting to find the ICE agents who made the arrests, so he can turn them into a band, and have them on his upcoming tour.
* Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson have officially split up. This begs the question, was the “W.A.P.” not as advertised, or could Klay simply not handle the “W.A.P.”?
* Metallica will be releasing a massive deluxe box set reissue of their seventh studio album, ReLoad, on June 26th. Titled Reload (Remastered), the offering will include the album on 180-gram double LP, and CD, three live LPs, 15 CDs and four DVDs with unreleased content, an MP3 download card, a 128-page hardcover book, and quite a few other items. Personally, I can’t wait to download all of it on Napster.
* Gavin Adcock continued his feud with Zach Bryan, posting on Instagram that Bryan “Still don’t know how to treat fans” after seeing Bryan call concertgoers Karens for being upset about a shortened set. This has to eventually lead to one of them being on stage at the Super Bowl calling the other a pedo, right?
* Madonna’s “I Feel So Free,” debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Dance Digital Song Sales chart. Dance Digital Song Sales? Sounds like a participation trophy to me.
* Bad Bunny’s “DtMF” has surpassed Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” for the most weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, notching a 57th week at the top. OK, but does he have Zuleyka Rivera in his video, because that’s what makes “Despacito” eternally #1 for many of us.
