Pop Shots – Predicaments

Welcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. Covering all things pop culture, this week Pop Shots is hitting you with thoughts on everything from Sabrina Carpenter’s Coachella confusion, to an unfortunate pairing for an R&B tour, to Katy Perry being accused of malfeasance, and since this is Pop Shots you know everything is seasoned with a little bit of attitude.

* Sabrina Carpenter apologized for having a negative reaction to a Middle Eastern cheer from an audience member during her Coachella set. A number of countries in the Middle East then banded together to try to find who would dare cheer for a woman.

* Diddy apologist Usher, and woman abuser Chris Brown are teaming up for a co-headlining stadium tour beginning in June. It’s the one tour where a promise to leave the ladies screaming isn’t necessarily a good thing.

* Morgan Wallen kicked off his Still The Problem tour at Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium. You gotta admire Morgan Wallen’s booking agent’s dedication to getting Wallen’s ass kicked, because dropping a white guy who uses the n-word into a city where there’s extensive racial unrest is definitely a “hope this turns out the way a lot of us want” type of deal.

* Bruno Mars launched his latest tour in Las Vegas on April 10th, and the city deemed it Bruno Mars Day in his honor. The city then momentarily shook when every woman’s panties dropped at the exact same time.

* Actress Ruby Rose made a claim on social media that Katy Perry sexually assaulted her at a nightclub in Australia 16 years ago. Perry denies the allegations, but if found guilty there will be a slot available for her on Usher and Chris Brown’s tour.

* J. Cole had to leave China after playing his first game in the Chinese Basketball Association due to issues with his visa. Unfortunately, this means he’ll now have more time to work on music.

* Green Day has launched a channel on SiriusXM named Idiot Nation. Honestly, I could’ve sworn that was the name of a talk show on one of those 24-hour news networks.

* Madonna announced her next album, Confessions II, will be released on July 3rd. With a title like that I have to assume it’s about having a baby with her side piece.

That’s all for this edition of Pop Shots, but come back next Monday for more shots on all things pop.
