Pop Shots – Big Features

Welcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. Covering all things pop culture, this week Pop Shots is hitting you with thoughts on everything from a documentary on 50 Cent, to Karol G on the cover of Playboy, to Cardi B and Offset appearing in police reports for very different reasons, and since this is Pop Shots you know everything is seasoned with a little bit of attitude.
* A three-part documentary on 50 Cent is coming to Hulu, but no release date has been set as of yet. If it’s anything like how hip-hop release dates used to be, when it does get one it will then be pushed back at least half a dozen times.
* Olivia Rodrigo’s third album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, will be released on June 12th. Her fans can’t wait to hear it, while the parents of her fans can’t wait to hear which artists she’s blatantly ripping off this time around.
* Karol G will be on the cover of the Spring issue of Playboy. So I guess the season won’t be the only thing sprung this year.

* Cardi B revealed she was the victim of credit card fraud after discovering four people had racked up $60,000 on one of her cards in the span of an hour. Sixty grand in an hour seems downright normal for Cardi B, so what tipped her off, did they buy a book?
* Cardi B’s ex-husband, Offset, isn’t faring much better than his former flame, as the rapper was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida around dinner time last Monday. Is it just me, or does that seem like an awfully high price to pay to eat a meal in front of Ed Sheeran’s old pants?
* Rapper J. Cole has signed a contract to play in the Chinese Basketball Association with the Nanjing Monkey Kings. My God, he’s actually living the meme!

* A 36 year old man was arrested for trespassing on Nicki Minaj’s property in Los Angeles. He found his way there after buying a copy of “Maps to the Homes of the Stars … of Rapidly Waning Relevancy.”
* The Wireless Festival was cancelled after Kanye West was denied entry into the UK. Meanwhile, in the U.S., Kanye’s latest album, BULLY, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. I can tell which country is getting it right, and it isn’t America.
* Jason Derulo will be bringing his Last Dance World Tour to Australia, playing arenas on both coasts. If you do a shot every time he sings his name you probably won’t make it to the halfway point of the show.
That’s all for this edition of Pop Shots, but come back next Monday for more shots on all things pop.
