NYC Scene Report – Cillë, Don’t Believe In Ghosts, & Laura Wolf

This week’s NYC Scene Report features Cillë enjoying some “Champagne,” Don’t Believe In Ghosts feeling a “Summer High,” and Laura Wolf having a long Shelf Life.
* Cillë wanted to make a song celebrating her best girlfriends in the city, and the result is a dance party waiting to happen titled “Champagne.”
For “Champagne,” the NYC, by way of Denmark, artist teamed up with Kelsey Warren, of Blak Emoji fame, and according to Cillë, his influence helped bring the track to life.
“I had this song sitting around as a demo, and didn’t really plan to do much with it,” she says, “but then I saw on social media that Kelsey had some openings, and I was like, ‘This is perfect for him!!’ He totally nailed it, and we finished the whole thing in just a few weeks. He also made it ‘me,’ which was so touching, because I had been on the fence about this one. I usually do much more rock driven stuff, and I just didn’t know if this was the right vibe, but Kelsey really met me in a place where I felt it was true to me, AND true to the sort of pop funky vibe I had in mind for the song. Win win win.”
Cillë is currently working on an EP, but you can pour yourself a glass of her high energy “Champagne” right now.
* NYC’s preeminent purveyors of positivity laced pop-rock, Don’t Believe In Ghosts, are ready to help everyone feel a “Summer High.”
Discussing the song in a statement, the band said, “‘Summer High’ is an anthem that combines nostalgia, and hope. It takes you on a journey back to carefree summer days, while encouraging you to overcome self-doubt, and embrace a brighter future. The song is about resilience, and the belief that things will get better, reminding us to stay true to ourselves despite life’s challenges.”
