Vid Pick: Crew54 - Recognize
Friday, February 07, 2014

I’ve enjoyed the music of Crew54 for a long time now (they were an Artist Of The Week here back in 2007), so I’m used to being impressed with their work. That being said, when I first heard their latest single, “Recognize,” it was a daaaaamn moment, as the song is truly on another level for any fan of golden era hip-hop. The lyrics are dope, the production is phenomenal, and the cuts during the hook will take you back to when hip-hop was just breaking through, and in the process of taking over the world.

“Recognize” is off of Crew54’s upcoming album, Wyld Gentlemen, and if the song is any indication of what the rest of the album will be like, I think we’ll all be earmarking it as one of our most anticipated hip-hop releases of 2014.
