Pop Shots – Stages

Welcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. Covering all things pop culture, this week Pop Shots is hitting you with thoughts on everything from Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl, to a country act ditching a charity event, to Lana Del Rey making a surprise appearance, and since this is Pop Shots you know everything is seasoned with a little bit of attitude.
* Bad Bunny has been announced as this season’s Super Bowl halftime performer. A small, but vocal, group of white people are upset that someone who performs predominantly in Spanish has this honor, while a larger group of Latin people are concerned they may have to see white people dance.
* Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco officially tied the knot. Their eventual kids will be unstoppable if they get her looks, and his ability to outkick his coverage.

* Def Leppard will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week. If it isn’t located outside a strip club it will be a real missed opportunity.
* Gunna will be a team captain for the NFL’s celebrity flag football game in London on October 11th. This is in a continued effort to spread the game internationally, and stretch the definition of “celebrity.”
* Nicole Kidman has filed for divorce from Keith Urban after 19 years of marriage. To this I say – Hey Nicole …

* Country duo The War and Treaty ditched a planned charity appearance just hours before they were supposed to go on, instead choosing to perform at Zach Bryan‘s record-setting concert, which packed in 112,408 people. That would be 112,408 people who are all better human beings than The War and Treaty.
* Lola Young announced via Instagram that she’ll be putting her career on hold for a while after collapsing on stage during a show. We should all wish her the best in her healing … also, does this mean I don’t have to learn who Lola Young is?
* An indie band named Fastest Kids in School were joined on stage by Lana Del Rey after she heard them play one of her songs during an outdoor gig. Let this be a lesson for bands – you better like who you’re covering. You don’t want to jokingly start playing Nickelback, and then wind up eye to eye with Chad Kroeger demanding you look at a photograph.
That’s all for this edition of Pop Shots, but come back next Monday for more shots on all things pop.
