Pop Shots – Enjoy The Ride

Welcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. Covering all things pop culture, this week Pop Shots is hitting you with thoughts on everything from Chappell Roan boarding “The Subway,” to possibly renaming an airport in honor of Ozzy, to Harry Styles looking to get into your pants, and since this is Pop Shots you know everything is seasoned with a little bit of attitude.
* Chappell Roan released a new single titled “The Subway.” I hope for the B-side she’s singing the old “$5 footlong” jingle.
* Maple Leif Garrett, aka Justin Bieber, has a song that could save a life. This is according to the American Heart Association, which said Bieber’s “Go Baby,” from his just-released album Swag, has the optimal tempo for performing hands-only CPR. Unfortunately, listening to Justin Bieber ranks as one of the top ways to lose the will to live. Bit of a Catch-22 there.
* Karol G surprised fans at a Spotify event in NYC celebrating her new album, Tropicoqueta. Note to self – start having events celebrating Karol G album releases.

* Taylor Swift called Happy Gilmore 2, which happens to feature a cameo from Travis Kelce, an “absolute must watch.” In a related story, all plans have been scrapped for a Taylor Swift movie review show.
* In more Taylor Swift news, Marc Maron paid $50k to use part of her song “Bigger Than the Whole Sky” in his HBO Max special Marc Maron: Panicked. It’s surprising that wasn’t bigger than the whole budget.
* In Birmingham, England, radio host Dan Hudson launched a petition to have the airport renamed for Ozzy Osbourne. C’mon, man, this is Ozzy we’re talking about, if we’re renaming something in his honor it has to be a train station.

* Harry Styles unveiled a new line of sex toys. Unfortunately, they won’t be of use for anyone bisexual, as they only go in One Direction.
* Demi Lovato released a new pop song titled “Fast.” Based on her recent history, that’s the exact speed at which it will disappear.
* Drake announced his remaining tour dates in Australia and New Zealand have been cancelled. I guess he didn’t want to get into a battle with the Hiphopopotamus, or the Rhymenoceros.
That’s all for this edition of Pop Shots, but come back next Monday for more shots on all things pop.
