Pop Shots – Lost and Found

Welcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. Covering all things pop culture, this week Pop Shots is hitting you with thoughts on everything from a long lost guitar of the Rolling Stones turning up after being stolen over half a century ago, to who can be found on a new list of “hot” artists, to where you could find Bruno Mars during a recent BLACKPINK concert, and since this is Pop Shots you know everything is seasoned with a little bit of attitude.

* A guitar that had been stolen from the Rolling Stones in 1971 turned up in a gift of 500 guitars the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art recently received. The museum knew it was the Stones’ guitar when it was the only one in the lot that couldn’t pass a drug test.

* Kesha’s first independently released album, . (Period), debuted at #17 on the Billboard 200. Ya know, I could make a lot of period jokes here, but I won’t, because they’d all be bloody awful.

* Bad Bunny, Tupac, and Elvis Presley were recently named by Harper’s Bazaar on a list of the 50 “hottest men of all time.” The list reportedly gave points for sexiness, and charm. Noticeably absent from the list – Right Said Fred. They were too sexy for it.

* Adam Levine revealed both Lil Wayne, and Sexyy Red will make appearances on Maroon 5’s upcoming album, Love Is Like. I just have to ask – who is this for???

* Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson seemed to confirm rumors they’re an item with a series of Instagram posts together. Personally, I think we should all be happy for her that this time she found someone who only shoots basketballs.

* A documentary on EDM titled Waiting For the Drop: Rise of the Superstar DJs will be released digitally later this summer. There’s no word on a physical release, because they’re still trying to figure out how to package MDMA with a Blu-ray.

* A plethora of bands performed at Ozzy Osbourne’s final show, but Mötley Crüe was not one of them. Nikki Sixx said they had to bow out due out “health issues.” Normally that’s a perfectly viable reason, but I’m pretty sure Ozzy was performing while legally dead, so maybe try something else next time.

* Bruno Mars surprised BLACKPINK fans when he appeared at the Los Angeles date of the k-pop group’s DEADLINE World Tour to sing his “APT” collaboration with ROSÉ. Just by writing that I now have the song stuck in my head again. Oh man, it’s gonna be in there all week, isn’t it?

That’s all for this edition of Pop Shots, but come back next Monday for more shots on all things pop.
