Pop Shots – Appearing Where?

Welcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. Covering all things pop culture, this week Pop Shots is hitting you with thoughts on everything from where you’ll find Ozzy Osbourne’s DNA, to Sabrina Carpenter debuting at #1, to The B-52s and Devo coming to a city near you, and since this is Pop Shots you know everything is seasoned with a little bit of attitude.

* Ozzy Osbourne – or whoever posts for him online – announced via social media that Black Sabbath’s final show, which will take place on July 5th, will be livestreamed. At some point before the show someone may even explain to Ozzy what livestreamed means.

* In more Ozzy news, Liquid Death will be selling a limited run of iced tea cans containing traces of Osbourne’s actual DNA. This just makes me wonder what’s really in an Arnold Palmer.

* Kid Rock has created what he calls a “pro American” music festival, and over the weekend the first Arkansas edition of the event took place. If any festival has ever needed a deodorant sponsor, it’s this one.

* Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and I am absolutely sure the majority of the people who were streaming that song, and watching that video, aren’t allowed within 500 feet of a school.

* In a recent interview with Aubrey O’Day, Suge Knight said Diddy’s peers have been silent about the sex trafficking trial because they’re afraid of the ramifications if they speak out. I don’t think any of us could’ve imagined a scenario where Suge Knight turned out to be the lesser of two evils, but here we are.

* Olivia Rodrigo spoke out in support of anti-ICE protests, saying, “L.A. simply wouldn’t exist without immigrants.” Olivia, your heart was in the right place, but the white people are actually the immigrants in L.A., or as it was once known, Mexico.

* The B-52s and Devo will be teaming up for an 11-date North American tour this fall. This is actually exactly what I need in my life right now, so who has the ticket hook up?

* BTS member Suga is nearing the completion of his military duty. Being that he was the final member of the group to serve, the boy band is on the verge of finally being whole again. Beavis must be incredibly excited at this news.

That’s all for this edition of Pop Shots, but come back next Monday for more shots on all things pop.
