Pop Shots – Wild Times

Welcome to your weekly dose of pop world musings. Covering all things pop culture, this week Pop Shots is hitting you with thoughts on everything from Megan Fox making it even weirder with Machine Gun Kelly, to Diddy doin’ dirt, to The Pretty Reckless reason why I’m looking for people to crash with in Europe this spring, and since this is Pop Shots you know everything is seasoned with a little bit of attitude.

* Megan Fox confirmed that she and Machine Gun Kelly are no longer engaged, but told a podcast he’s still her “twin soul.” There hasn’t been a more mismatched set of twins since Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.

* As everyone knows by now, the feds raided both of Diddy’s homes this past week as part of a sex trafficking investigation. The day after the raids Diddy sold his stake in Revolt TV, because nothing says “I’m innocent” like liquidating your assets.

* A cameraman in Australia accused Taylor Swift’s father, Scott Swift, of assault, but the elder Swift will not face charges. Instead, he’ll have to hear his daughter sing about her love life in front of tens of thousands of people on a nightly basis.

* Maxwell will be hitting the road this fall for a 26-date tour that kicks off on September 14th. While he’s named it The Serenade Tour, it might as well be called the “Don’t Be Surprised When Your Favorite Middle Aged Aunt Comes to Thanksgiving Pregnant Tour.”

* Nicki Minaj showed a little more than she intended during a recent concert in Orlando when one of her breasts popped out of her outfit. For the record, when your aunt does this at the Maxwell concert it won’t be an accident.

* Shakira took over Times Square for a free pop-up show to celebrate the release of her latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. Approximately 40,000 people crowded the area, although there’s no word on how many heard a woman was shaking her hips in Times Square, and were hoping the city had gone back in time to the early ‘80s.

* Twenty One Pilots will be hitting the road for a 59-date world tour in support of their upcoming album, Clancy. The tour kicks off August 15th, and will run through the fall. I, for one, can't wait to find out what connection the tour, and album have to the NHL’s King Clancy Memorial Trophy, which is a humanitarian award given annually to a player in recognition of exemplary service to their community.

* The Pretty Reckless will support AC/DC on the legendary band’s upcoming European tour, which begins in mid-May. In a related story, I’m looking for people in Europe I can crash with in mid-May. Y’all know my love for Taylor Momsen! #ModernDayRockGoddess

That’s all for this edition of Pop Shots, but come back next Monday for more shots on all things pop.
