NYC Scene Report – Razor Braids, Don’t Believe In Ghosts, & Kanye the Lovechild

This week’s NYC Scene Report features Razor Braids living in the moment with “She,” Don't Believe In Ghosts taking on their “Bad Ideas,” and Kanye the Lovechild with a feel-good anthem for everyone.
* Brooklyn-based indie rock foursome Razor Braids recently wrapped up a tour, but even though they’re now off the road the music continues with their latest single, “She.”
Discussing “She” in a statement, the band’s Hollye Bynum said, “It’s a song about being present when you meet someone really special – you don’t want to think about what happens tomorrow, or what happened in past relationships, because when you look at her you just get to be in the moment.”
With a chorus that’s ridiculously catchy, I can absolutely imagine crowds clapping, and singing along at the end of “She.” Heck, I know I’ll be doing that when I’m in the crowd!
So stay in the moment with Razor Braids, and check out “She.”
* Don’t Believe In Ghosts is a fantastic indie pop-rock band who are an absolute must-see live, which is why I was stoked that they recently released a live video for their latest single, “Bad Ideas.”
Discussing the song in a statement, frontman Steven Nathan called it a “sonic confrontation with the ghosts of our worse judgments.”
Since the video was filmed live in a studio, there’s no crowd, but you’ll get an amazing taste of the raw energy, and the good times the band creates whenever they perform.
You can absolutely believe in Don’t Believe In Ghosts, and playing their music will never be one of your “Bad Ideas.”
* In need of a feel-good jam? Column newcomer Kanye the Lovechild provides exactly that with his debut single, “We Outside.”
The upbeat song feels like a summer’s day, and spreads joy, and positivity, while being a dance party waiting to happen.
“We Outside” is a direct reflection of Kanye the Lovechild’s personal ideology, which he discussed in a statement, saying, “I’m not here to fit into anyone’s box. There’s so much beauty in being yourself; everybody is different, and special. When we realize, and accept that, we can be better people, for ourselves, others, and humankind as a whole.”
Click play on “We Outside,” and feel the love, and self-love, with Kanye the Lovechild.
