NYC Scene Report - Rabbi Darkside, Golden Animals, Bardot, & more

New York City should really get all the credit for the creation of the energy drink. No other city moves at the speed of NYC, or with such determination. "No Standing" signs don't just apply to cars, they apply to people, because if you aren't on your way to somewhere, you're going to get run over. For us, the somewhere we're on our way to is almost always a music venue.

Much like we return to our favorite venues again and again, this edition of Neighborhood Watch: NYC features a few returning favorites in retro rockers Lily and the Parlour Tricks, and singer-songwriter Jodi Good. This week's column also features the modern rock of Darkhorse, and Love Crushed Velvet, some psych rock from Golden Animals, the soulful electronic music production of Jimmy Quinn, and some well polished indie rock from Ariel Aparicio's latest project, Bardot. Leading everything off, however, is a jazzy hip-hop song from Rabbi Darkside that is sure to spark something in the right side of your brain.
