Vid Pick: Kaye-Ree - One
Friday, March 08, 2013

A lot of today’s R&B focuses on carnal pleasures, but back in the day the genre tackled social and political issues. Persian-German soul singer/songwriter Kaye-Ree, who I first wrote about here way back in 2007, is throwing it back to that era with her latest single, “One.” “One” covers the idea of unity, and true freedom, and it does so with a chorus that sticks with you, which is fantastic because it means the message keeps replaying in your head, as well. If you’re looking for something thought provoking, Kaye-Ree provides it with “One.” Listening to the song might even cause people to be kinder to each other!
