The cypher is one of hip-hop's greatest traditions, and if you're anything like me, you have fond memories of witnessing emcees gather outside of venues, in local parks, and even on subway platforms, to kick rhymes, and pass the proverbial mic to each other.

A cypher is equal parts simplicity, and complexity. There's the simplicity of needing nothing more than your voice, and the complexity of needing to rhyme off the dome. This is what makes a great cypher so special, and why this week's Vid Pick is a cypher featuring three artists who have been featured here often, in J. ManifestO, Ciphurphace, & ScienZe, as well as two newcomers, in Jay Lonzo, and RedBaren907.
