When Jack Rabinowitz and Craig Kabrhel were a rap duo going by the name Bubble Geese, they were having fun, but they couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing. That something, they found, was hidden at the end of each of their performances.

"We used to end our set with this song ‘Walmart Parking Lot,' which is a straight up punk song," Rabinowitz remembers. "We wanted to, first of all, make it hard for people to follow us. We also wanted to make it so we stood out, and people remembered us, because people were getting ready to nod their head to like RZA beats and there's this group singing ‘I'm in the Walmart parking lot,' like screaming, and people would be like ‘who the fuck are these guys,' and actually remember us."

The two artists enjoyed the punk rock they were closing their sets with so much so that Rabinowitz picked up his guitar, Kabrhel picked up his bass, they added drummer Chris Miedaner into the mix, and became Pedico (pronounced Ped-e-co), a band that embodies a punk rock vibe that hasn't been seen in the city since the heyday of CBGBs.

B-Listers are a select group of artists that were featured in my Artist Of The Week series that ran every Monday from April of '06 to April of '11. All of these artists have two things in common; extreme talent, and a flight path far too under the radar for my liking. They took on the title of B-Listers as they embraced being featured by me, Adam B. Check out the AOTW Archives for all the interviews.
