Tah Phrum Duh Bush Says “Enchanté!” with Hip-Hop’s Most Welcoming Single of 2013

Brooklyn hip-hop artist Tah Phrum Duh Bush is inviting the whole world to get to know each other with his new single, “Enchanté!” The song, which is off of producer Vax1’s album DANS MES VEINES (From My Veins), is the product of Tah’s incredible international tour itinerary, which has included nine trips outside of the US.

It was during a 2011 tour of France that Tah picked up the phrase “enchanté.” “I thought it was a dope way to say ‘pleased to meet you,’ he remembers, “it literally means ‘enchanted.’”

The idea to create a song based around the phrase came from Tah’s desire to see people become more sociable. “I wrote this song in an effort to encourage people to break through the barriers of being afraid to meet and interact with people,” he explains. “In these times of computers and internet we are able to virtually meet more people than ever, but most are still shy to meet other people in person. I have traveled all over the world and met random people and wonderful things have occurred as a result of me not being afraid to introduce myself.”

Putting together the video for “Enchanté!” involved a lot of people Tah’s introduced himself to over the course of his career. With his bags packed and ready to go to Europe for his latest tour, he announced via his email list, and various social networking sites, that he was doing a last minute shoot and was looking for people to star in the clip. The result is a video filled with friendly faces and good vibes.

“Enchanté!” is the first release from Tah since his 2010 album Luminous Dark Alleys: The Insomniac Works, which was ranked as one of the top ten hip-hop albums of that year by RapReviews.com.

Tah is currently on tour in Europe with Hired Gun of the group 3rd Party. The two are due back on February 20th, with Tah hitting US stages again in March.

B-Listers are a select group of artists that were featured in my Artist Of The Week series that ran every Monday from April of '06 to April of '11. All of these artists have two things in common; extreme talent, and a flight path far too under the radar for my liking. They took on the title of B-Listers as they embraced being featured by me, Adam B. Check out the AOTW Archives for all the interviews.
