If you’ve ever wondered what the evolution of hip-hop’s “Golden Era” would sound like, it sounds a lot like YC The Cynic, who embraces the era, but puts his own spin on it. With “Driver’s Seat” he’s come up with one of the most appropriate choruses to describe his current position in the scene, “fuck that, I’m in the driver’s seat now.” YC The Cynic is in the driver’s seat as his ascendance in the scene continues and he's not about to put his foot on the break anytime soon. As an aside, I imagine this song is a huge crowd pleaser, with everyone rapping the chorus along with him. Heck, I was rapping along by the end of the song and this was just the video!
