Stef Lang - From Bullet Trains to Dodging Bullets

If you go to the furthest reaches of the West coast of Canada you’ll find Stef Lang. An edgy pop artist with a penchant for dubstep, the Vancouver native has been making a name for herself north of the border since the age of 17, which is when she left the cozy confines of home, where she was the youngest of seven, to pursue a career in music.

Now 23, Lang has developed a sound that’s completely her own. Her most recent release, an EP titled Fighting Mirrors, gives listeners a taste of that sound, and she’ll be serving up an even bigger helping on October 15th with the release of her next full length album, Self.

With Self on the way, I caught up with Lang to find out more about her, and her music. Lang also told me about her work being featured on the teen television juggernaut Degrassi, a jaw dropping email she received from a fan, and a terrifying trip through Winnipeg that involved strippers, the cops, and a murder.
