Vid Pick: YC The Cynic - More and More
Friday, November 04, 2011

YC The Cynic is a young cat with an old soul. Actually, maybe a better way to put it would be he’s a young cat who embraces some old souls. That’s the perfect way to explain how someone who was still in grade school during the last “golden era” of hip-hop can seem so compatible with such a time. “More and More” showcases this, as it’s a good old fashioned posse cut featuring YC rhyming with Soul Khan, Von Pea, and Sene, over a killer beat produced by J57. Those of us in NYC’s underground scene have been diggin this cat since he told us to “Say Superman,” and this song gives the rest of the world an indication as to why.

For more on YC The Cynic check out his Artist Of The Week feature (10/2009).
