Bryant Dope is an emcee I've been a fan of for a number of years, so I was understandably stoked when I heard he'd released a new music video.
When I first discovered Dope I was originally drawn to his more socially conscious songs, but he's also an exceptional lyricist (despite what some hip-hop heads may tell you, those qualities do not always go hand in hand!). On his latest, "We Got It," Dope is focusing on his lyricism, and a bit of that good old fashioned hip-hop braggadocio.
"We Got It" is off of Dope's upcoming EP, How It Is Now, and the video for it was filmed in Downtown Los Angeles, which might be a not so subtle nod to how impressively the Queens, NY, native's "Got It."
B-Listers are a select group of artists that were featured in my Artist Of The Week series that ran every Monday from April of '06 to April of '11. All of these artists have two things in common; extreme talent, and a flight path far too under the radar for my liking. They took on the title of B-Listers as they embraced being featured by me, Adam B. Check out the AOTW Archives for all the interviews.
