Vid Pick: Gif the Griot - Daddy's Girl

When Gif the Griot announced his #LiveSessions concept at the end of January I was hyped about it. Leading off his latest Live Session saying "I'm bout to tell y'all a story," Gif, who is one of NYC's best storytellers on the mic, launches into a true life tale that is equal parts incredible, and gut wrenching.

Gif's gift with words weaves the story of a daughter searching for her father, the unique way in which she finds him, and what their initial meeting leads to. The end has a twist I didn't see coming, and I'm still shocked all of this happened in real life. My guess is, you will be, too.
