With high temperatures, and crazy humidity, summer is in full effect in NYC. Here's an idea, if you're going to be hot and sweaty anyway, why not be hot in sweaty in a bar, or a club, checking out some great independent artists? This week's trip through who's making moves in the city that never sleeps, but always sweats, includes the etherial electro sounds of Phaseone, a heartfelt, and heart-filled, song from singer-songwriter Jillette Johnson, a blues/hip-hop creation from CharlieRED, a look at pop-rocker Emiko's new album, some dream-pop from Heaven, the funky punk of Big French, and Zola Jesus' classical turn. Leading things off, however, is j.viewz with an 80s inspired video that will be one of the coolest things you see all week.
