Love Inks - Love is in the Air, & Coming Through Your Speakers


If the Yeah Yeah Yeahs decided to chill out and do something downtempo they might sound a little like the Austin, Texas, band Love Inks. Comprised of singer Sherrie LeBlanc, her husband, guitarist Kevin Dehan, bassist Derek Brown, and their latest addition, drummer James Jones, the group has been making a name for itself in their hometown’s lively music scene over the past few years.

In 2011 the band released E.S.P., which in this case stands for Emotive Simple Pop, and they’re readying the release of their follow up, Love Field, for the Spring of 2013. On a night when Love Inks was hitting the stage at Pianos in New York City, I caught up with LeBlanc on a bustling Ludlow Street to find out more about the band’s music, her very spiritual side, and where she found support while touring following the passing of her father. LeBlanc also revealed why if you attend a Love Inks show it might be a good idea to bring a date.
